Build the systems
the mission runs on

Privateer IT engineers, operates, and secures federal & commercial systems — The work is close to the mission, the team is nimble enough that your contribution is visible, and the company is led by people who have served.

The Work

Missions our people support

Federal IT is not abstract. The systems our teams keep running are the ones agencies use to deliver benefits, care, and services to the public.

Veterans and federal health

Modernization and operations work supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs and federal health environments — systems clinicians and beneficiaries depend on.

Modernization at scale

Moving federal workloads into FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments and re-engineering what was built for a data center to run well in a platform.

Operations that cannot stop

24x7 enterprise operations and service desk work where availability is a contractual commitment, measured and reported every month.

Why Privateer IT

A small company on serious contracts

Large integrators offer scale. We offer proximity — to the mission, to the customer, and to the people making decisions about your work.

  • Visible contribution. On a team this size, what you build is identifiable and your name is on it.
  • Certification support. Our delivery staff hold AI, ITIL, Scrum, VMware, and cloud platform certifications, and we invest in earning them.
  • Veteran-friendly by construction. Founded and led by a Navy veteran; military experience is understood here.
  • Career paths across capabilities. Service desk into engineering, engineering into architecture, delivery into program leadership.
Working Here

Benefits, locations, and clearance

Clearances and onboarding

Privateer IT holds a Facility Clearance and maintains an in-house security clearance capability.

  • A dedicated Security Clearance Specialist runs federal onboarding and background investigation submissions.
  • Required training in PII, PHI, and PSI handling is provided through the federal agency's talent management system.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage for employees, with options for dependents.
  • Retirement plan with a company contribution.
  • Paid time off and the federal holidays observed on your contract.
  • Professional development — support for the certifications your program needs, including exam time.

Plan details, contribution levels, and eligibility dates are confirmed in writing with your offer. Ask about anything specific during the interview — you will be talking to someone who knows the answer.

Where you would work

  • Location follows the contract. Some federal programs require on-site presence, some are hybrid, and some are fully remote. Each opening states which.
  • Corporate office — Melbourne, Florida. Our principal office, and where company functions are based.
  • Government sites we have staffed include Austin TX, St. Louis MO, Martinsburg WV, Asheville NC, Chicago IL, Washington DC, and federal Consolidated Patient Account Center locations.

Veterans, Guard, and Reserve

Privateer IT is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and we welcome applications from veterans, transitioning service members, members of the Guard and Reserve, and military spouses. If you are transitioning, our in-house clearance processing and federal program experience are the two things that usually shorten the path into a contract role.
